Lenticular clouds over the hills and mountains of North Wales. They are usually seen over mountain ranges and can be so spectacular they've been mistaken for flying saucers by the more jumpy members of the populace.

These examples are a bit poor by comparison really, but still may have persuaded one or more addled ninnies to give the rest of us a laugh by hiding under some cushions. One can but hope.
